Corporate-sponsored Research Summit Program
This new pathway provides industry partners with the opportunity to sponsor a multidisciplinary summit and have a voice in the research priority outcomes that result.
Over the years, SIR Foundation has held many successful and impactful Research Consensus Panels (RCPs) with topics submitted from SIR membership and corporate partners.
Unfortunately, SIR Foundation receives more topics than it can support through the RCP process.
Now we are offering a new way for corporate partners to fast-track their research ideas with the Corporate-sponsored Research Summit Program. This new pathway will provide our industry partners the opportunity to sponsor a multidisciplinary summit and have a voice in the research priority outcomes that result from the research summit.
These 2-day virtual events are hosted by SIR Foundation on your behalf and consist of up to a 10-person panel, including one panelist identified by the funding corporate partner.
With the Corporate-sponsored Research Summits, a physician can be recommended as the lead panelist(s). These recommendation(s) will go through the same review process as panelists recommended for unsponsored RCPs. This review process includes the Research and Registries Division chair, corresponding Clinical Specialty Council chair(s), and the SIR Foundation chair and vice chair. Together they will review and approve the selected leads.
To maintain the integrity of the summit, recommendations for panelists submitted by the funding corporate partner are not guaranteed.
Following the lead panelists approval, SIR Foundation staff work with them to build the presentation topics and select the additional panelists for whom they feel would be best able to present on the identified topics, minus the corporate liaison and their corresponding presentation topic. The corporate liaison would be identified by the corporate partner funding the research summit.
Once the topics and other panelist recommendations are complete, SIR Foundation staff will send out the panelist invitations. After all panelists have accepted, formal promotion of the event will begin. The Research Summit is an open event. Anyone can register to attend, including other corporate partners and organizations; however, they will not have the ability to present or vote on the research priorities that result from the summit.
This summit pathway not only provides opportunities for publication in Journal of Vascular and Interventional Radiology (JVIR), but also the option to sponsor an Incubators Grant, or a clinical trial or registry.
